When will Higher Education Student Suicides get the Review they Deserve?
Announcing a letter writing campaign that we are inviting people to take part in which is asking the government for a comprehensive, at least a ten-year, review of historical Higher Education student suicides.
Honouring Those Lost: A Candlelight Vigil for University Students Lost to Suicide
Each year, around a 100 university students tragically take their own lives. Members of ForThe100 will lead a candlelight vigil on 2nd March 2024 at Millennium Square in Leeds, providing readings and reflections that honour the lives lost to suicide. It is being organised to draw attention to the need for a Statutory Duty of Care in higher education which would prevent many of these suicides.
High Court dismissed Bristol University appeal in Natasha Abrahart case
Today a high court released it’s judgement on an appeal by the University of Bristol involving the family of Natasha Abrahart who are members of ForThe100, a decision which has also been awaited for it’s potential relevance to Statutory Duty of Care in Higher Education.
